TFPC strict rules for Telugu FilmsMar 20, 2019 12:05 AM
With the satellite, digital and Hindi dubbing rights fetching massive prices, Telugu film producers are left in huge profits irrespective of the theatrical business of their films. The biggest challenge happened to be the digital streaming as the movie is released across platforms like Netflix, Jio and Amazon in just three to four weeks after the film's theatrical release. Recent blockbusters like F2 suffered massive dent through the theatrical business as the film got released on Amazon.
Now the Telugu Film Producers Council met recently to discuss about this and strict rules have been finalized. Any Telugu film cannot be streamed on any digital platform before completion of eight weeks after the theatrical release. This is a great initiative to save films as the audience will have a chance to watch the film once again on the big screen if they love the film. These rules will come into existence from April 1st in Tollywood.
