Attack Movie ReviewApr 21, 2016 06:38 AM
'Attack', which has been lying in the cans for a long time, hits the marquee today. As RGV's previous movie 'Killing Veerappan' was successful, this film released today amid good buzz. Manchu Manoj and Surabhi play the leads in this movie, which features Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Vadde Naveen, Poonam Kaur etc in important roles. Let's get into the details of the film.
Enraged by the killing of his father Guru Raj (Prakash Raj) , Kali (Jagapathi Babu) vows to take revenge. But in a shocking turn of events, he also gets killed. Now it's turn of Radha ( Manoj), the younger son of Guru Raj, to take charge. How does he retaliate forms the rest of the story.
Manchu Manoj plays a very intense role. He is very good in action sequences and his performance is the highlight of the film. This is a good comeback for Vadde Naveen, who has been off the radar for a long while. He impresses with his performance. Prakash Raj and Jagapathi Babu played small but effective roles. Their characters are very important to the film. Surabhi has nothing much to do in the film. But she looks good. Poonam Kaur and Abhimanyu Singh are ok.
Anji's cinematography is very good. He showcases old city in a very good light. Some of the scenes were shot exceptionally well. The background score is loud. The screenplay is uninteresting.
Performances of Vadde Naveen, Prakash Raj and Jagapathi Babu
Routine story and screenplay
The story of 'Attack' is done to death and nothing new to offer. Even the execution goes for a toss. It is good to see Manoj in such an intense role. Prakash Raj, Jagapathi and Vadde Naveen are good in their roles. No doubt, RGV is one of the greatest directors in India and has touched many genres in his career. Audiences would like to see him making films with fresh stories.
'Attack' is a one time watch
