'Babu Baga Busy' Movie ReviewMay 05, 2017 05:37 AM
When it was announced that Srinivas Avasarala was roped in to play the lead in the remake of 'Hunterrr', many were surprised as the film is an adult comedy, where the hero plays a sex addict and Avasarala is someone who comes with a clean image both as an actor and a director. But as the actor in him motivated, he took up this 'challenging' role. Mishti Chakraborthy, Supriya Aysola, Tejaswi Madivada and Sreemukhi were roped in for the female lead roles. Naveen Medaram, who comes from a VFX background and has also worked for some Hollywood films, directed this movie, produced by Abhishek Pictures. This is the production house's first movie. Read on to know how the film is.
Madhav (Srinivas Avasarala) plays a guy obsessed with sex since his teenage. As a teenager, he even gets into awkward situations when he gets caught watching porn. Due to his insatiable lust he starts chasing girls and he encounters many women during the different stages of his life. For him sex is just a 'need' and he doesn't believe in getting married just for the sake of it. Paru (Tejaswi Madivada), a swimmer is one of the girls, he encounters. She is innocent and falls for his charms. He also gets into a relationship with a married woman named Chandrika (Supriya Aysola), who is looking for some love. She later has to face some problems in her marriage due to this relationship. He gets to a point that he is 'tired' of chasing girls and he wants to get married. He meets Radha (Mishti), who also has troubled relationships, and wants to get married. Does he reveal his past to her ? Does his past come in the way of their marriage ? Who is Shoba (Sreemukhi) ? Watch the film for answers. There is also an interesting parallel story of hero's friend in the movie.
Srinivas Avasarala surprises with his performance. As a sex addict he is very good and he is good in romantic scenes. Supriya Aysola looks seductive in a couple of scenes and she gives a good performance. Tejaswi Madivada as an innocent girl is good. Sreemukhi plays a small role, but is good. Mishti is good as well in the role of Radha. The performances of Priyadarshi, Tanikella Bharani, Sudha and other actors are good.
The production values are just about okay . The screenplay is average and Debutante director Naveen Medaram has done a disappointing job with the film. Sunil Kashyap's music and Suresh Bhargava cinematography are average.
Not for family audiences
'Babu Baga Busy' is a film, which stays true to the original movie, 'Hunterrr'. Except for some changes, nothing much has been changed regarding the script. Srinivas Avasarala impresses in a surprising role and the others actors are good. The film will attract the younger sections of the audiences though family audiences may not find it appealing. The film is a daring attempt. There are some loopholes but overall, the film is a good adult comedy. Don't go with your families.
Stays true to the original. Only for youth.
