'Brahmotsavam' beats 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' record

We have already reported the overseas rights of Mahesh Babu's forthcoming film 'Brahmotsavam' were bagged by Classic Entertainments, one of the leading distributors of South Indian movies in US. What's shocking is that they bagged the rights shelling out a whopping Rs.13 crores. This is the highest ever amount paid for the overseas rights of a movie.
The previous record was of Pawan Kalyan's 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh', the rights of which were bought for Rs.10.5 crores. 'Baahubali' overseas rights were sold for Rs.9 crores.These numbers once again prove that Mahesh Babu is the undisputed king of overseas. He has already five million dollar films in US and his previous movie 'Srimanthudu', which was also distributed by Classic Entertainments, raked in over $2.8 million.
'Brahmotsavam' is scheduled for a release in May. Sreekanth Addala of 'SVSC' fame is the director and the film is said to be a beautiful family entertainer, emphasizing the need to be together and celebrating every moment like a festival. Mickey J Meyer is the music composer and the music album of the film is expected to be launched by March end or in April.
