Chalapathi Rao apologizes for his comments, but..

Veteran actor Chalapathi Rao has been under fire for his derogatory comments on women at 'Rarandoi Veduka Chuddham' audio launch event held recently. As the controversy has been getting bigger, the senior actor has apologized for his comments.

"I shouldn't have made those comments, which have hurt women. I sincerely apologize for those comments. I'm 73 and has over 50 years experience as an actor. I shouldn't be remembered like this. I've always respected women and there has been no remark against me in my career. My wife died 40 years back and I've never married again just to take care of my children and I have no affairs with anyone. I am sorry for my comments. But we are all responsible for the double meaning dialogues and objectionable content in some TV shows as we are enjoying them. As actors, we all should take responsibility for such content in movies. I once again apologize for my comments. Please put an end to this discussion", Chalapathi Rao said.

Many in the industry have condemned Chalapathi Rao's comments.
