Chandrababu Naidu responds on Nandi Awards controversyNov 21, 2017 06:42 AM
The recently announced Nandi Awards for the years 2014,2015 & 2016 have sparked controversy and the issue has been blown out of proportion by some media outlets. Some are trying to bring caste politics into the issue.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has finally responded on the issue. He said that he didn't expect the Nandi awards would stir up a controversy and the government would have opted for IVRS based voting system if they had anticipated it.
"We have announced the list given the juries for the three years. It's saddening that some people are trying to bring caste politics into everything. We would have gone for IVRS based voting system, had we expected this. We shouldn't have announced Nandi Awards for three years at once", the CM said.
