'Duvvada Jagannadham' Movie ReviewJul 07, 2017 02:44 AM
After a blockbuster like 'Sarrainodu', Allu Arjun teamed up with Harish Shankar for the movie, DJ Duvvada Jagannadham, and everyone was surprised, when they got to know that he is playing a brahmin guy in the movie. But the trailers promised a very good entertainer in Harish Shankar style. For the first time the glamorous Pooja Hegde paired opposite Bunny and the pair looked very hot in the promos. Devi Sri Prasad's songs have also helped the film in getting good hype. This is Dil Raju's 25th film as a producer and read on to know if this movie will be a memorable hit for him and the hero.
Since his childhood, Jagannadham (Allu Arjun) doesn't stand injustice. He believes in "Yuddham Saranam Gachchami" more than "Buddham Saranam Gachchami". He grows up to be the best cook in the town. He comes across the beautiful Pooja. All seems well, but Jagannadham is seething with revenge and the rest of the story is all about how he does justice to the people who are the victims of a huge scam. Rao Ramesh's role is also interesting. Watch the film for more.
Allu Arjun gives his best as a Brahmin youth. His performance is excellent and his comedy timing is flawless. His role has a different shade as well. Pooja Hegde is damn hot and she shares a sizzling chemistry with Bunny. Both of them are adorable and hot as a pair. Rao Ramesh is very good as a villain. He reminds of his legendary father Rao Gopal Rao in some scenes. His timing is great. The performances of other actors are also good.
The production values are excellent in the movie. The songs were shot well. The screenplay is very good, though the story seems old. The dialogues were written well. Ayanaka Bose's cinematography is very good. The visuals are splendid. The background score is good.
Pooja Hegde's glamour
Comedy & Dialogues
Excellent production values
Weak second half
Looks like Harish Shankar has written DJ Duvvada Jagannadham story based on Agri Gold scam. Allu Arjun excels in the role of a Brahmin youth and his comedy timing is very good. He is very good in the action sequences as well. Harish Shankar pens very good dialogues. They are funny and also thought provoking. Ayanaka Bose's cinematography is good. The story looks quite routine, but Harish Shankar does good job with the screenplay and direction. Ram - Laxman's action choreography is very good. Pooja Hegde ups the glam quotient and she is very good opposite Allu Arjun. On the flip side, comparisons are inevitable for Bunny's role with NTR's Chari role in Adhurs. But this is a very different role and story. All in all, DJ is a good comedy and action entertainer.
Good comedy and action entertainer. Allu Arjun excels.
