'Astha Chamma' combo Nani and Mohan Krishna Indraganti teamed up after 8 years for the movie 'Gentleman'. Starring Surbhi and Nivedha Thomas as the leading ladies, this film has hit the screens today. Read on to find out how the film is.
Gautham (Nani) is a happy go lucky guy. He falls in love with Catherine (Nivedha), a VFX artist, at the first sight and soon even she reciprocates his love. Catherine goes to London on a work and on her way back to India, she meets Aishwarya (Surabhi), who is already engaged. They tell each other their love stories and at airport, Surabhi introduces Jai (Nani), her fiance, to Catherine. Is Gautham and Jai two different persons ? Or they only one ? What are the consequences ? These questions form the rest of the story.
Mani Sharma's background score is a big plus to the movie. The cinematography is also good. The screenplay is interesting and the suspense has been maintained well.
Nani is at his best once again and lived up to his title 'Natural Star'. This is a superb debut for Nivedha Thomas in Telugu. She impresses with their acting skills and she is here to stay. Surabhi also gave a good performance. Avasarala Srinivas is also excellent.
Nani and Nivedha Thomas' performances
Cliched scenes in second half
'Gentleman' is a romantic thriller and is a different film for Nani compared to his previous ones. Mohan Krishna Indraganti, who has so far directed soft movies, directs this thriller well. The suspense over whether Nani is a hero or a villain and if he is playing a dual role or not has been maintained well. Nani and Nivedha Thomas impress with their performances. Vennela Kishore's comedy in the second half is good. All in all, the film is a good thriller.
'Gentleman' is an engaging romantic thriller. Watch it.
