Interview : No truth in those rumours: ChiranjeeviJan 16, 2017 05:40 AM
Chiranjeevi is set for a comeback. 'Khaidi No 150' releases on 11th January and the excitement in fans is in all time high. In an interaction with the media, Megastar talks about the film, why he has chosen a remake, if he is ready to sport six pack abs, about his son Chiranjeevi, brother Pawan Kalyan, why the pre-release event venue was changed etc.
I wanted to do a straight film and waited for the right subject for more than a year. As I am in politics, I wanted something more than entertainment. When I happened to watch 'Kaththi' movie, I felt it has all the elements I am waiting. Initially, I was little apprehensive about acting again in am movie or not. But with the encouragement of fans and actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, I decided to act in my 150th film.
Unlike the original movie 'Kaththi', 'Khaidi No 150' has more entertainment. Brahmanandam's character was also added. The dialogues are different although the situations are the same. We have also changed the song situations. Khaidi is fast paced than Kaththi.
I was not sure whether Chiranjeevi would be a good producer or not. But despite his busy schedule for Khaidi No 150, he looked after Khaidi No 150 exceptionally well. He has a good taste and spots talent well. I think he is a very good producer.
Balakrishna already succeeded by selecting a good subject like Gautamiputra Satakarni. It is a different movie compared to us. I wish him, Krish and the team of GPSK all the very best.
There is no truth in the rumours that government was involved to stop us from holding the pre release event in Vijayawada. There was a court order not to hold non-official events in that ground and the officials requested to change the venue.
About Pawan Kalyan
It is good to see how Pawan Kalyan is evolving as a politician. It's his style. There is no truth in news that I am going to join another party leaving congress.
Six pack abs
I am also ready to films like 'PK', except the first scene. Jokes apart, Aamir Khan is a very talented actor. I don't think I am as talented as he is.I don't want to give a competition to my son by sporting six pack abs. But if the script demands it is not at all an issue for me.
Paruchuri Brothers are readying Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy script. Surender Reddy is also preparing a subject. My 152nd movie will be directed by Boyapati Srinu and will be produced by Geetha Arts
