JAC and DSP issue pacified with new prices; strike called offMar 07, 2018 06:17 AM
The Joint Action Committee of the South Indian Film producers who protested against exorbitant charges by Digital Service Providers for Virtual Print fee is coming to final stages. The protest was made by shutting down the screening of South Indian films. At last, the JAC of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) and the Digital Service Providers (DSPs) have come to a mutually viable agreement today.
The DSPs have agreed to reduce the Virtual Print Fee (VPF) levied and thus, the Producers’ JAC and the exhibitors have called off the strike. The screening will start back from March 8th.
The latest VPF charges proposed by the DSPs are :
For E-Cinema, per Show – 275
Full Run Flat VPF – Rs 21,750
Per Show – 450
The Producer/Distributor are ought to choose one of the above models before the release of the film. These new prices will be applicable from April 6th, 2018.
