Jr NTR has been in top form these days. He has been making right moves for a few years and his decisions have worked out well. He scored hat-trick hits with 'Temper', 'Nannaku Prematho' and 'Janatha Garage'. Now he teamed up with director Bobby for the movie, 'Jai Lava Kusa', which sees him in three roles for the first time in his career. Nivetha Thomas and Raashi Khanna acted opposite Tarak in this movie, co-written by Kona Venkat, produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under NTR Arts banner. This much-anticipated movie has been released. Read on to know how the film is.
Jai, Lava and Kusa (three roles played by NTR) are brothers. While Lava is innocent, Kusa is naughty. Due to his stuttering problem, Jai often gets humiliated during his childhood. Even though he is a good actor, he couldn't perform well on stage shows due to his problem. This makes an impression in his mind and changes him. The three brothers get separated for some reason. While Lava grows up to be a bank manager, Kusa has dreams of going to U.S. All seems well for them until the third character, Jai enters. Jai, who has some political motives, kidnaps his brothers with an intention. Who is Jai ? Why he kidnaps his brothers ? Do the three brothers work towards a common goal ? If yes, what is it ? Watch the film for more.
Needless to say, NTR is outstanding. He effortlessly brings variations in body languages, diction and even his voice for the three roles of Jai, Lava and Kusa. It's his show all the way. Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas are very good. Nanditha also gets to play a good role. Tamannnaah oozes glamour in the item song. Her dance in 'Swing Zara' song is very good. Bollywood actor Ronit Roy, who makes his debut in Telugu, Abhimanyu Singh, Priyadarshi, Praveen and others are good in their roles.
Surprisingly, the production values are not so good though Kalyan Ram is the producer. Devi Sri Prasad's background score, especially for Jai's character is excellent. Chota K Naidu's cinematography is good Kona Venkat's dialogues are good, but the comedy is not up to the mark. The screenplay is good. Bobby shows his skills as a director. The elevation scenes are executed well.
Few illogical scenes
It's a sheer delight to watch an actor like NTR in three roles. As said, Tarak effortlessly brings variations to the three roles and it's his show all the way. He is very good not only in the much hyped Jai role, but also in the other two roles. As innocent Lava and naughty Kusa, NTR gives his best. Bobby has given his best for this movie. He has written the emotional scenes and some elevation scenes really. The comedy in the first half could have been better, as some dialogues seem routine. The first half is good. Jai's entry just before the interval block takes the film to a whole new level. Fans will sure love the interval block and Jai character entry. The second half is also good. The climax is emotional. NTR was just wow in the pre-climax and climax episodes. The choreography should have been better as the steps of NTR seem routine. All in all, 'Jai Lava Kusa' will appeal to mass and family audiences. Don't miss it.
