Janatha Garage Movie ReviewSep 23, 2016 06:43 AM
NTR and Mohanlal joined forces for 'Janatha Garage', directed by Koratala Siva, who earlier directed super hits like 'Mirchi' and 'Srimanthudu'. This film has hit the theaters today (1st September). Read on to know how the film is.
Mohanlal is a mechanic, who owns Janatha Garage. People treat him as god and approach him if they have any problem. Anand (NTR) is the son of Mohanlal's brother (Rahman), who gets killed after Mohanlal refuses to help a industrialist, who tries to acquire the lands of poor for his company. Rahman's brother-in-law (Suresh) takes the child Anand along with him to Mumbai and Anand is brought up along with Bujji (Samantha). Anand grows up without knowing anything about his paternal family. He is an environmental studies student, who loves nature and everything on earth. Fate brings him to Janatha Garage and rest of the story is all about his journey with Mohanlal.
The cinematography by Tirru is very good and the way uses light for different moods is good. Devi Sri Prasad's background score in the second half is good. The production values are good.
NTR played a very intense role in this movie and he is excellent. Mohanlal's performance is another major highlight. Unni Mukundan impresses in a negative role. Ajay, Brahmaji, Rahman and others do good roles. Though they get small roles, Samantha and Nitya Menon are good.
NTR and Mohanlal's intense performances
Emotional second half
Less entertainment quotient may not be liked by some sections of fans
It's a treat to watch NTR and Mohanlal together in Janatha Garage. Both give intense performances and takes the film to a different level. But compared to his previous films, Koratala Siva's direction looks weak. The entertainment quotient is missing and the film is mostly serious. The film also has a good message to protect environment. The first half is ok and it is in the second half, audiences get to see some amazing stuff. All in all, the film will be loved, if you don't expect comedy from it.
intense and emotional entertainer with a good message.
