Mahanati, a biopic on legendary and veteran actress late Savitri, is bringing huge expectations every passing day. The film is directed by Nag Ashwin , who made Yevade Subramanyam earlier. The film is in the final stages of the post production.
The director revealed in one of his latest interviews that, he researched a lot and made meticulous steps in meeting many people to gather the accurate information on the life of Savitri. He further said that it was an excruciating experience to hear the emotional life stages of the actress and that he was moved to tears.
As we already know, Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Savitri in the film and according to the posters and trailers, looks like she did a great justice to the role. Moreover, it is happy to learn that Keerthy is an absolute lookalike of Savitri.
As per her interview, she said she had to do her makeup for 3 hours and prosthetic makeup was an ordeal. Also, the actress was on liquid diet for a month or so. The whole hard work will soon pay off and we, as an audience, cannot wait for the film.
The film has Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu and many reputed actors in pivotal roles. Mahanati releases on May 9. The film will also release in Tamil simultaneously as Nadigaiyar Thilagam.
