Manamantha Movie ReviewAug 22, 2016 05:09 AM
Chandrasekhar Yeleti is a director par excellence, but he hasn't got his due credit in Tollywood yet. Though his movies were critically acclaimed with very novel storylines, he has been waiting for a proper commercial hit. His 'Manamantha' raised curiosity with the trailer and Mohanlal's presence raised the expectations to the next level. This film has been released today. Let's see how the film is.
'Manamantha' revolves around the lives of four different persons of different age groups, their day to day struggles, being middle class people, and their experiences. Sairam (Mohanlal) works as an assistant manager at a super market and all he wants is to get promoted to Manager and he gets ready to do anything for it. Gayathri (Gauthami) is a house wife. Though she is well-educated, she ends up being a normal house wife and struggles to manage finances. Abhiram (Viswanth) is a brilliant student, but his life turns upside down after falling in love. Mahita (Ramya Rao) is a little girl, who finds happiness in helping others and also tries to pay for the education of a poor kid. These four stories run in parallel and how they meet is going to be interesting.
Yeleti always extracts the best performances from his actors and even in this movie, the performances are topnotch. Mohanlal once proves how great an actor he is. He effortlessly shows variations in his role. His dubbing is also very good. Being a Malayali, the way he mouthed the Telugu dialogues, learning the language, is praiseworthy. Gauthami also emotes well. Viswanth and the kid Ramya Rao do a great job, though they are new actors. Veteran Gollapudi Maruthi Rao also gets a good role to play.
The production values are very good. The background score is apt. The screenplay is very interesting and is packed with surprises. The cinematographer also does a good job.
