The film is set in a remote tribal village, where wild animals wander. Manyam Puli (Mohanlal) is the man the villagers approach whenever a Tiger enters the village and starts killing people. He battles the man eating Tigers and kills them. There is a story as to why Mohanlal turns Manyam Puli and starts killing tigers. His father gets killed by a tiger infront of his eyes when he was a kid. He kills the tiger and slowly becomes the protector of the village. Kamalini Mukherjee plays his wife. Jagapathi plays a selfish man, who tries to use Mohanlal's innocence, to his own selfish gains. Manyam Puli gets into a trouble because of this. Watch the film for more.
Mohanlal once again proves why he is a 'Complete actor'. He is at his best as the protector of the village, who hunts down tigers, and a man who is innocence personified, who gets into the trap laid by Jagapathi Babu. Kamalinee Mukherjee is very good as Mohanlal's wife. Though he gets to play a small role, Jagapathi Babu is effective.
The artwork is good and the cinematography is excellent. The tribal village scenes are shown in a good light and the hunting scenes are also executed well. The screenplay is tight. The background score of Gopi Sunder elevates the scenes.
Manyam Puli lives up to the expectations. The Complete Actor, Mohanlal, gives an extraordinary performance. The action sequences are also highlight in this movie. Except for some lag in second half, the film is good.
