I play an aspiring director in 'Raja Cheyyi Vesthe' : Nara Rohit

May 17, 2016 05:53 AM I play an aspiring director in 'Raja Cheyyi Vesthe' : Nara Rohit

For the first time Nara Rohit and Nandamuri Taraka Ratna shared screen space in a film titled "Raja Cheyyi Vesthe". This film, directed by debutante Pradeep Chilukuri, hits the screens April 29th. Rohit is excited about the film. In an interaction with the media, he shared details about the film, his character etc.

Very engaging

The screenplay of 'Raja Cheyyi Vesthe' is very engaging and the way the director narrated impressed me though the story seems like a regular one. So I immediately signed the film. Though the director is new, he is very strong regarding technicalities. He has clarity regarding what he wants and doesn't leave until he gets the desired output.

Aspiring director

I play Rajaram, an assistant director who aspires to become a director. My character has been designed well and it is very exciting. As there is a popular song, we titled the film "Raja Cheyyi Vesthe" as it is catchy.

Great working with him

The film started making buzz after it was revealed that Taraka Ratna is playing villain. After working for this film, our relationship became stronger.

Can't guarantee

We can't guarantee success if we do only film a year. I act in a film if I like the story irrespective of whether the director is experienced or not. So every film is like an experiment to me.

Disappointed with that failure

'Raja Cheyyi Vesthe' and 'Savithri' released within a gap of few weeks. I don't expect Rs.15 crores profit for a film made on a budget of Rs. 5 crores. So regarding 'Raja Cheyyi Vesthe', my producers were happy with the money it made. But I was disappointed with the failure of 'Savitri' because we couldn't understand where it misfired.

Losing weight

After 'Baanam', I don't want to gain weight. But it happened. Currently, I am in the process of losing weight. But since my films are releasing back to back, audiences can't find the difference. I've already lost 5 kgs.

Upcoming films

'Jyo Achyuthananda' is on sets now. It is the story of two brothers. The second schedule of "Kathalo Rajakumari" is about to start. Ilayaraja garu is composing music for that film. "Appatlo Okadunde Vaadu" next schedule will also start soon. The post-production work of "Pandagalaa Digi Vachaadu" is under way. We are planning to release it in June.
