'Oxygen' Movie ReviewDec 01, 2017 05:52 AM
It's been a long time since Gopichand has scored a hit and the macho hero badly needs a success at this point of time. 'Oxygen', directed by AM Ratnam's son AM Jyothi Krishna, who earlier directed 'Nee Manasu Naaku Thelusu', has been released now after a long delay. Anu Emmanuel and Raashi Khanna acted opposite Gopichand in this movie. Read on to know if the film will be a much needed hit for Gopichand.
Shruti (Raashi Khanna) is the daughter of Raghupati (Jagapathi Babu). She wants to marry an Indian but her dad fixes her match with Aravind Krishna (Gopichand), who lives in US. Aravind Krishna, an orphan, returns to India to marry Shruti and impresses Raghupathi by showcasing his love for Telugu tradition. On the other hand, Raghupathi's family members face a threat to their lives from a faction group led by Sayaji Shinde, who has a feud with them. Just when Raghupathi tries to marry off his daughter to Aravind Krishna, half of Raghupathi's family members get killed by someone unknown and the rest of the story is all about the story behind these murders. Watch the film for more.
Gopichand performs well in a role with different shades. Jagapathi babu was impressive too. Anu Emmanuel gets a good role in the second. Raashi Khanna does justice to her role. Abhimanyu Singh, Brahmaji, Sayaji Shinde and others are good in their roles.
Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs are OK, but the background score by Chinna is one of the major assets of the film. The camerawork is very good and the film looks rich. The screenplay should have been much better as the storyline has a good potential. The dialogues are good.
Performances & Action sequences
film seems lengthy
Routine first half
'Oxygen' has a good message for the society and the performance of the film depends on how well the audiences receive that message. The basic story line of the film is good and there are some high points in the film. The interval block of the film impresses. The performances of Gopichand, Jagapathi Babu and other actors are good. The director should have worked more on the screenplay of the film to make it more engaging. The first half seems routine, but there is a good message in the second half and that's the 'Oxygen' for the film. Watch it.
Message is the 'Oxygen' for the film
