When Sr.NTR felt proud of Balakrishna...Jul 28, 2016 12:16 PM IST
It's unbelievable that 'Aditya 369' was released 25 years ago. Because, the film is technically so sophisticated that even today, it looks awe-inspiring and loved by this generation audiences. The credit goes to director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao for his amazing vision and Balakrishna for his guts to accept such a complex story back then. The film is just one example of Balayya's knack for experimenting.
'Aditya 369' is considered as one of the most brilliantly made Indian sci-fi movies ever and the best Indian time travel movie. Audiences were enticed by Balakrishna's look as Sri Krishna Devaraya and the loved the magic created by Singeetham. Producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad says that he feels proud to have produced a film like 'Aditya 369' and director Singeetham couldn't imagine anyone other than Balayya for the role of Devaraya when he wrote it. Singer S.P.Balasubramanyam presented this movie.
Made on a budget of Rs.1.5 crores, the film went on to collect Rs.9 crores, which was an all time record. The film created new records in many areas in Andhra Pradesh.
It was wrapped up in just 110 days, which is not possible these days considering the scale on which it was made. Ilayaraja's songs were also very popular.Mohini paired opposite Balakrishna in this movie and Tinnu Anand played the scientist, who invents the time machine.
Producer Krishna Prasad further revealed that Sr.NTR liked the film very much and felt very proud of his son Balakrishna after watching it. Actors like Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanti promoted the film.
A sequel to the movie, 'Aditya 999' has been in discussions for a few years and the film was also supposed to be Balayya's 100th movie. But the film has been postponed indefinitely and in all probability, it will be the actor's 102nd movie as he confirmed that his 101st film will be 'Rythu', directed by Krishna Vamsi. Singeetham has been working on the script currently and this film will also introduce Balakrishna's son Mokshagna to the silver screen. So, this film is much awaited by Nandamuri fans.
Let's congratulate the team on making such a great film, which completes 25 years today.
